I have reached almost squee levels of excitement today … next week, I’ll be interviewing Jesse, a wonderful friend and former hostess at the first (and second) safari lodge I visited, the lovely Dulini Moya.1 I think next week’s WanderFinder may therefore come in the form of a podcast? Fingers crossed — I’ve never done that before.
Jesse says she has stories of leopards, bush babies, genets, and lots more. I can’t wait.
(A pic of a leopard and cub that Jesse and I saw on our first outing together.)
Also, did you know that Oppenheimer and William Burroughs attended the same desert boarding school for the sons of the elite, meant to toughen them up? I was going to write more about it, and about Desert Oracle, a wonderful book I’m reading, but I just suddenly decided to take another angle on it so hopefully look for it mid-week.
In the meantime, hope you’re all having a wanderful week.
Back then, it was just Dulini, but what with one thing and another, various other lodges got consolidated. I’ll always be loyal to the one and only original, however.
Hannah, this looks like such an amazing experience. I look forward to more pictures and descriptive messages. Have fun and be safe.
