Steven and I honeymooned in Grand Teton! Why does the fox have a color? Is it in some kind of ecological population study?

Oh, and I meant to mention -- I thought (optimistically) that it was in a study, but I've learned apparently not. It means it accepted food from a human, and this is its one-strike collar. If it does it again, it'll be killed. It doesn't seem fair at all -- the fox didn't do anything wrong, the human did.

That's so neat that you and Steven honeymooned here! Are there any special places that you remember/would like me to visit & photograph? Michael's flying out as I type ... in fact, I need to leave now-ish to go pick him up from the airport. :)

Really enjoyed this. The guys saying that the Colorado in the Grand Canyon was "flat" meant that because of the low water level it was lacking rapids. Overall, the river thru there is rated Class IV (with some class V rapids).

Thanks, this makes so much sense! I just thought the guy really needed his glasses prescription checked. :)

Keep us posted on your trip! That scraggly fox looks like they are molting.

Thanks, and good tip on the fox!

Great photos! The long hair on the fox's shoulders is really striking. Is the bird a Western tanager?

The bird is a Western tanager! A lifer for me -- and a very cheeky little bird I must say. :) And yes, I completely agree about the fox. Perhaps s/he was molting, as someone else suggested.
