Hi folks,
It might not be Sunday, but some readers sent in some great info, and I couldn’t wait to share it.
First, March 18-28, 2021 is the DC Environmental Film Festival. I’m particularly excited about The Falconer, a film about one of the very few Black falconers in the U.S., Rodney Stotts. A friend, Angela N., and I, profiled Stotts for DC Focused back in March, 2017, and I’m thrilled to see him featured in this documentary.
I haven’t watched it yet (I’m planning to this weekend), but as far as I can tell, you can watch this any time during the festival. Let me know what you think if you watch.
Second, if you’re not in the cicada Brood X area, don’t despair! If you live in the United States east of the Rockies, you too may get to experience the insect explosion that is a cicada emergence. Check out this U.S. Forest Service map to find out when your cicadas pop:
Finally, a reader alerted me to existence of this (BRIGHT!) yellow cardinal, spotted in Illinois. Hope it brings some sunshine into your first day of spring.
Thanks for all the reader comments (you can email me at info@wanderfinder.com, or leave a comment below)! Keep them coming — I love hearing about your nature-related activities and thoughts.
