Looking Pretty There, Potomac
Still haven’t written the other post I was going to write, but I did remember that I was going to introduce y’all to an amazing photographer I ran across, Ann C. Smith, who took this series of 36 pictures of the Potomac River during her residency at the nearby Torpedo Factory Art Center.
I look at these photos, and while I don’t recognize the Potomac in particular, I feel like I do recognize every river I’ve known — how they seem to change drastically with the light and weather changes, sometimes seeming tropical, sometimes leaden, sometimes boggy.
I thought these were particularly nice to gaze at the first Monday in the New Year.
Hope the year is treating you well so far, and that it continues to send soft breezes and little lapping waves your way.
If you enjoyed this post, please share it with your nature-loving mates.
